I've decided that every Thursday this summer, I will write a tutorial on how to do something with computer, Internet, or scrapbook-related. My cousin, Patti, recently asked me about putting a header on her blog. I forgot to show her at the time, so I'm going to walk through it here. I figured this was the perfect time to start Tutorial Thursdays! :)
These instructions are specific to Blogger, as I don't use any of the other blogging sites.
First, log in to your Blogger dashboard, then click the Layout link in your Manage Blog section (fig. 1).
Once you are in the Layout section, click Edit on your Blog Header section. (fig. 2)
This will open up the Configure Header window. There, you can change your blog title, description, add the header. Select the radio button next to From your computer: if that is where your image is stored. Or if you have a web address, you can add it in the From the web: area. I'm going to assume you have the header stored on your computer.
Click Browse and navigate to where your blog header is stored on your computer. (fig. 3)
Once you have gotten the right file selected, you should click the radio button next to Instead of title and description, unless of course, you want your title and description to show with your blog header. I am assuming you don't. ;)
Now that you have all of that out of the way, click Save and your header will upload, then you will return back to the Add and Arrange Page Elements, or Layout Editor. Your layout should automatically save once you've saved the header. If not, you can click Save and it will definitely save.
View your blog now. The header should be there! (fig. 4)
